Weak frame and engine vibrations. Everything plays a part. Mostly a weak frame. This one in particular was a stamped frame. I made the mistake of not properly welding and reinforcing joints.
Nothing grave.a shop rag tied behind the head tube that held the wires saved me from face planting.

Same problem
Got this, exempt finishing touches it should fire up. But due the tremendous leverage of the new shift kit and the tight unbroken 66 cc the bicycle frame is flexing enough to toss the chains continually. I'm disappointed but hope to get the engine broken in if it take the next 6 months peddling it only a few yards until it becomes easy to start. The aluminum bikes are more likely to break before the steel frame bikes but I've never seen one break steel or aluminum but I can see it being possible without much effort.

If you don't have a welder take it to a real welding shop. Not
some buddy that thinks he can unless you know for sure. I do
welding tig, mig & stick.
The biggest problem most back yard welders make on thin tube
is crystallizing the tubing around the weld with too much heat.
Good brazing will work also.
