2-stroke Ignition Timing Advance Curve
This video shows a graphic representation of why the standard Chinese 2-stroke bicycle engine CDI destroys upper and lower end connecting rod bearings; typically using a 4-stroke ignition advance curve.
2-stroke engines require an advance curve that retards ignition timing after about 3,000 rpm due to the extra mixture motion as the air/fuel charge passes through crankcase; being agitated a second time when forced through the transfer ports.
The Jaguar CDI fixes this problem as it is designed to give a true 2-stroke ignition curve; working in harmony with the standard magneto.
